Communication Protocols CCS - CHAT

Any communication for business purposes, other than phone calls, are to be conducted via our Teams platform. Therefore, if you wish to use your mobile phone for work purposes, you will need to install the Teams application. 

Chats

Incidental, informal, non-critical, non-urgent (real-time conversation about a specific matter/document) 

Audience

Individual, group, or Team 

Expected Response

Respond at your next availability. No response expected/required when face to face with students, in a meeting, or outside 8:15am to 4:00pm.  (Send only between 8:15am and 4:00pm, or schedule send between these times).  

Examples

“Hi Darren, have you got time to catch up this afternoon after 3?” 

“Hi Ross, can you grab the cones from the sports shed next time you are down that way?” 

  • Email with a quick request - SENDER

  • Email with reply to quick request - RECIPIENT

 

  • Utilising the chat function in teams, the same request is sent - SENDER

  • The recipient gets a notification of an unread message in teams - RECIPIENT

  • Chat reply to the quick reequest in teams - RECIPIENT

Current Practice

New Practice
