What’s this for?

The chat text in a Zoom meeting can be saved for future reference.

By default ICS has the ability to save the chat history enabled but turned off and can be be managed by the host at their discretion.

You can turn it on as you go per Zoom meeting or you can have it always save. Below are the 2 methods.

PLEASE NOTE: Both these methods require you to use the web site version of Zoom and not your app.

Do not open the app and follow any of this inside the app. It won’t work.

Go to icsnsw.zoom.us instead and click on:

Saving chat manually

You can save your in-meeting chat manually during the meeting. This will save it locally to your computer.

  1. When in meeting, click on Chat.

  2. At the bottom of the chat window, Click on Save Chat.

  3. This will save your chat to your local recording location. The default is your Documents folder > Zoom > Folder with meeting name, date and time.

Auto-saving chat

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.

  2. Click Settings.

  3. Next to In Meeting(Basic), click Edit on the right side.

  4. Check the option for Auto saving chats.

  5. Click Save Changes.
