Sway - Embed to SEQTA

Sway is being used to publish Junior School news and notices to staff and students through SEQTA. In order for this to work, the sway needs to be embeded into SEQTA.

Instructions

Pre Requisites: Sway has been created

  1. Go to https://sway.office.com. Navigate and open the sway that you want to embed to SEQTA

  2. At the top right of the sway click share and make sure the sharing settings are set to “Anyone with a link”

  3. Click on “Get embed code”

  4. Copy the code by selecting the “copy to clipboard” button

  5. Navigate to SEQTA: staff.calderwoodcs.nsw.edu.au and select notices from the left hand side

  6. Select ADD NOTICE

  7. Ensure that you do the following:
    - Give it a title
    - Change the label to “K-6”
    - Set the start and end date to the current week
    - Select whether it is a staff notice or a student/parent notice

  8. Select insert->Web Content

  9. Ensure you change the setting to HTML Snippet

  10. Paste your sway into the box

  11. After some trial and error, the Width and Height can be customised. When you copy the sway it will look something like this

<iframe width="760px" height="500px" src="https://sway.office.com/s/WNug62wl6keBrhj2/embed" frameborder="0" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" max-width="100%" sandbox="allow-forms allow-modals allow-orientation-lock allow-popups allow-same-origin allow-scripts" scrolling="no" style="border: none; max-width: 100%; max-height: 100vh" allowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen msallowfullscreen webkitallowfullscreen></iframe>

If you change the width and height to be the following it will look a little better in SEQTA

width="98%" height="750px"

Export

The sway is a dynamic document which means it can be edited and it will be updated without having to copy another link.

If we have some parents that can not access SEQTA or would like a hard copy of the sway it will be a point in time copy. To export to a PDF do the following:

  1. Go to https://sway.office.com. Navigate and open the sway

  2. At the top of the sway click the 3 dots and select export

  3. Click export to PDF
